ARP Contract II - Water Tank Rehabilitation Project The Project includes the following Work: Rehabilitation including repairs, modifications,sandblasting and recoating of the following Water Storage Tanks; Snake Hollow Water Tank located at 312 Snake Hollow Road , Hartsville, Tennessee - 100,000 gallon capacity - Steel - Ground Level WTP Water Tank #1 located at the Water Treatment Plant; 10 Water Plant Road, Hartsville, Tennessee - 120,000 gallon capacity - Steel -Ground Level WTP Water Tank #2 located at the Water Treatment Plant; 10 Water Plant Road, Hartsville, Tennessee - 100,000 gallon capacity - Steel -Ground Level Bids are requested for the following Contract: 804201 The Project has an expected duration of 180 days. Pre-bid Conference There will be no pre-bid conference for this Project. Contractors are encouraged to make a site visit to each of the three tanks being rehabilitated. Contact the Engineer to schedule for the Utility District personnel to assist the bidder to access. Instructions to Bidders. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Workers on Projects Davis-Bacon Wage Determination The Davis-Bacon Act as amended, requires that each contract over $2,000 to which the United States or the District of Columbia is a party for the construction, alteration, or repair of public buildings or public works shall contain a clause setting forth the minimum wages to be paid to various classes of laborers and mechanics employed under the contract. Under the provisions of the Act, contractors or their subcontractors are to pay workers employed directly upon the site of the work no less than the locally prevailing wages and fringe benefits paid on projects of a similar character. The Davis-Bacon Act directs the Secretary of Labor to determine such local prevailing wage rates. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron orsteel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. Pig iron and direct reduced iron The District has the right to accept any or reject all bids, and to waive all informalities. Smith Utility District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Question Deadline 11/01/2024 All question about the meaning of intent of the bidding documents are to be submitted to engineer in writing.
