As of January 23, 2025 the project was awarded toActive Mechanical O/B 1246175 Ontario Limited, awarded amount of $621,330.50. The City is soliciting Bids from Contractors to implement the construction, re-commissioning, and measurement & verification (M&V) of Fire Station 97's deep energy & GHG reduction pilot project. The purpose of this pilot project is to reduce the energy use and GHG emissions for Fire Station 97 by retrofitting the facility with multiple low-carbon measures in a way that optimizes the project budget and cash flow, complies with Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM's) grant program requirements, and demonstrates a planned trajectory of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. This project is in alignment with the City's Municipal Energy Plan (MEP) target of achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. Documents can be obtained at https://markham.bidsandtenders.ca/
