Renovation of a detention facility in Lima, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
AOCI HVAC Upgrades Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Nichole Burns at DRC.CAMSRFQ@drc.ohio.gov The State intends to select an Architect/Engineering (A/E) team to provide design and construction administration services for an HVAC Upgrade Project at the Oakwood Correctional Institution (OCF). OCF is in Lima, Ohio, and houses approximately 400 incarcerated persons. The facility is approximately 70 years old. The project is primarily intended to replace the existing OCF HVAC controls, replace 7 roof top air handlers, install new DHW boilers and associated pumps, decommission boilers at the Powerhouse, clean ductwork, air balancing, and install 6 mini split units at Allen Correctional. The development of the POR will include a comprehensive survey/field investigation of the existing site and surrounding areas to evaluate the condition in relation to the project scope described above, and in relation to the project budget. Develop a phasing plan to keep the HVAC control system and maintain proper temperature throughout construction. Work will include demolition, masonry, metals, carpentry, roofing, security, electrical, and mechanical as a minimum scope. Also included will be necessary ancillary work which may be uncovered/discovered during investigation of the site. This work may include all general construction items and scopes, including but not limited to concrete, roofing, painting, finishes, mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing work that may be integral to the security aspects of the HVAC upgrade project. The project scope will then be evaluated, prioritized, and defined/redefined to align with available project funds. All aspects of the project must comply with Department of Rehabilitation and Correction policies and procedures.
