Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: 1. The work of this contract includes Drainage and Street Improvements on Iowa Colony Boulevard and Davenport Parkway to serve the City of Iowa Colony, Texas. Applicable requirements include but are not limited to compliance with the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts, Fair Labor Standards, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, and contracting with small, minority, and disadvantaged firms, as detailed in the project manual. Bid Security and Bonds: Bid Security in the form of Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Iowa Colony in the amount of 5% of the total base bid price must accompany each proposal. When appli-cable bidders submitting bids electronically through the E-bid System shall scan and up-load a copy of the sealed Bid Bond as an attachment to their bid. Original documents for Bid Security shall be requested by the City from the lowest two bidders and delivered to the City's Purchasing Officer within 48 business hours of the Bid Opening. Bid Security shall be delivered to: Office of City Pur-chasing, Department. The selected bidder will be notified at the earliest possible date. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in bids received where such action is in its interest. The City pays for goods and services according to the provisions of Chapter 2251 of the Government Code. Bids may be held by the City of Iowa Colony for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigat-ing the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All bidders are required to provide payment and performance bonds.
