Project Location: Jefferson County The work shall consist of grading, drainage and pavement repair. Alabama Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2022 Edition and Special Provisions will be used for the project. The entire project shall be completed in 60 working days. The Jefferson County Commission encourages the voluntary utilization of qualified resident Jefferson County contractors, minority contractors, and disadvantaged contractors who live, work, and do business in Jefferson County. The minimum pay to all skilled intermediate and unskilled labor employed on this Contract shall be as set forth in the Special Provisions. Performance Bond and Labor and Payment Bond will be required of the successful BIDDER. Performance Bond must be in the penal amount of 100% of the Contract price and Payment Bond in the penal amount of 100% of the Contract price. Bonds must be executed by a Surety company acceptable to the Commission of Jefferson County, Alabama and authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. The Jefferson County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals and to waive all informalities. Certified check or bid bond for 5 percent of total bid, made payable to the Commission of Jefferson County must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The maximum per contract is $10,000 for bids under $500,000 or $50,000 per contract for bids $500,000 or more.
