Contractor will provide repair services to Tuscaloosa Housing Authority equipment and systems on an "As Needed" basis during normal business hours. Additionally, provide emergency repair services for calls occurring after normal business hours, weekends and holidays. Contractor agrees to respond to all emergency calls after normal business hours, weekends and holidays as a condition of the contract. Contractor is to provide a central contact source, available day and night, for all calls after-hours and designate the persons who will respond to emergency calls. After-hours repairs should be limited to those necessary to provide/restore fresh domestic water, hot water and sanitary sewer availability. All other repairs are to be re-scheduled during normal business hours. Types of repairs might include broken domestic water lines, failure of water heating systems, inoperable toilets, clogged or backed up sewer lines and natural gas leaks within dwelling units. Priority should be given to broken water lines, broken and/or stopped up sewer lines and inoperable toilets. Contractor shall also provide protection against open ditches, running water and other unsafe conditions resulting from plumbing system failures. Contractor shall coordinate with local Utilities and suppliers to ensure prompt repair of THA systems and equipment. In no case should service be interrupted for a period over 24 hours. Contractors' representatives should be licensed according to State and Local requirements. All repairs are to be warranted for a minimum of thirty (30) days and all installed equipment is to be warranted through the manufacturers' normal written warranties. All used equipment removed by the contractor is to be disposed of utilizing approved methods. The Contractor is responsible for repairs to the facility (sidewalks, interior & exterior walls, floors, cabinets, etc.) after plumbing repairs are complete. The contractor should expect to commence work under this contract beginning January 2025 after its receipt of a written notice-to-proceed from the THA to execute the work. The initial term of the contract shall be for two (2) years in accordance with the start and completion date in the contract issued by the THA. All questions must be submitted in writing to the Authority by 5:00 PM (CT) on October 17, 2024. Questions not submitted by this deadline will not be answered. The Tuscaloosa Housing Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotes, or any part of any quote, and to waive any informalities or irregularities.
