Question Cut Off Date 10/31/2024 02:00:00 PM (CT) Bidders must submit bid questions in the Questions tab of the bid event. Questions will be answered within one (1) day of the questions cutoff date/time. Christmas Tree Grinding 2024-2025: City of Omaha is requesting bids from qualified companies, herein called Bidder, Contractor, Vendor, Supplier, or other pronouns used in their place, for all work and/or goods set forth in the specifications. This bid does not have an SEB reserve. Requirement for Bid Bond: The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). LETTERS OF CREDIT ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. The bid bond amount is listed in the Attributes section. A copy of the bid bond/acceptable substitute shall be uploaded in the Response Attachments section. Acceptable substitutes for bond requirement: a certified check, an official bank check, or cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to the City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable) are acceptable substitutes for bond requirement. We anticipate that the residents will begin bringing trees to the collection sites beginning on Thursday, December 26th, 2024. A steady stream of trees will continue to be delivered to the sites until the sites are closed. Volunteers will assist the public at the highest volume sites (Saturday December 28th 2024, Sunday December 29th 2024, Saturday January 4th 2025, and Sunday January 5th 2025) The successful bidder shall begin to monitor the sites on Thursday, December 26th, 2024. The processing (grinding/chipping) of all trees received at the collection sites on or prior to 2PM Thursday January 16th, 2025, shall be the responsibility of the successful bidder. Trees received after 2PM Thursday, January 16th, 2025, or after all trees have been processed and the city contacted and the work approved, whichever is later, will not be the responsibility of the successful bidder. Successful bidder will not be required to be operating on New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1st, 2025.
