Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of Pittsfield is seeking competitive bids from qualified Contractors to perform parking lot resurfacing on both the lower and upper City owned parking lots at Pontoosuc Lake. Work under this contract shall consist of milling & sweeping, tack coat, and paving. Each parking lot is scheduled to be resurfaced in differing manners. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to complete the work specified herein, under the direction of a representative of the City of Pittsfield. Work will be completed pending completion prerequisite work in the Pontoosuc Lake Park - Phase 1 Contract. Milling and Sweeping A. Lower Parking Lot (Boat Launch) I. Mill 1 % inches of the existing asphalt surface and sweep or power broom dust and loose material. B. Upper Parking Lot (Picnic Area) I. Mill to the existing gravel subbase (assumed 3-4 inch depth). A. Lower Parking Lot (Boat Launch) I. Over the milled surface, apply one even coat of asphalt emulsion for tack coat. Minimum application rate of 0.08 gallons per square yard. II. Pave surface course of 2 -inches compacted thickness of superpave surface course 9.5 mm B. Upper Parking Lot (Picnic Area) Over the gravel base pave intermediate course of 2-inch compacted thickness of superpave intermediate course 12.5 mm. Over the intermediate course, apply one even coat of asphalt emulation for tack coat. Minimum application rate of 0.04 gallons per square yard. Pave surface course of l-Vs inches compacted thickness of superpave surface course 9.5mm. Lower Parking Lot (Boat Launch) I. Over the surface course of pavement apply 4" wide white lines to match the previous parking configuration, for truck and trailer parking. White paint must be intended for use as traffic marking paint by the manufacturer and low VOC or VOC compliant solvent based. Upper Parking Lot (Picnic Area) I. Over the surface course of pavement apply 4" wide white lines to match the previous parking configuration, for regular passenger vehicles. White paint must be intended for use as traffic marking paint by the manufacturer and low VOC or VOC compliant solvent based. a. Existing parking configuration consists of 10' by 20' parking stalls along the northern side of the existing parking lot. The City of Pittsfield Purchasing Agent Reserves the Right to Accept or Reject Any or All Bids or to Waive Any Informality in the Bidding. Bids Shall Be Valid for 30 Business Days After the Bid Receipt Date. Also Reserved is the Right to Reject, for Cause, Any Bid in Part or Whole, if It is Judged by the Purchasing Agent That the Best Interests of the City Will Be Served Thereby. Estimated Cost: $200,000.00 City of Pittsfield Purchasing Department Invitation for Bid the City of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Acting Through Its Mayor and Its Purchas-ing Agent Wages Are Subject to the Prevailing Wage Requirement of M.g.l. Chapter 149, 26-27f, Inclusive. Attention is Called to the ''Equal Opportunity Clause'' and the Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications. All Bidders Will Receive Consideration Without Regard to Race, Color, Religion, Age, Sex, Marital Status, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Disability, or Veteran Status. Bidding Procedures Will Be in Accordance With the Latest Edition of M.g.l. Chapter 30 39m. Any Bids Received After the Specified Time Will Not Be Accepted. All Bids Will Be Submitted in a Sealed Envelope Clearly Marked "Sealed Bid Enclosed Ifb#25-021 Parking Lot Resurfacing at Pontoosuc Lake". Questions concerning this IFB should be directed to the City of Pittsfield Purchasing Agent up to five (5) business days before the time and date of the bid opening. Work under this contract shall begin on or before April 15, 2025 weather permitting and be fully completed on or before June 30, 2025,
