Renovation of a municipal facility in Wilson, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Description: The City of Wilson is requesting bids for wall repairs at the Gig East Exchange per the attached and herein. The purpose of the project is to repair the masonry walls on the right side (southwest) and rear (southeast) of the building to provide waterproof, structurally sound, and aesthetically improved walls. The work includes, but not limited to, removal & re-pointing of deteriorated mortar as needed, removal and replacement of deteriorated caulk as needed, repair and/or replacement of loose or missing masonry as needed. Location: 127 Goldsboro Street South The date of availability for this contract is anticipated to be on or before January 31, 2025. The completion time for this contract is 180-days from Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages for this contract are Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per calendar day. Question Deadline 11/15/2024 Request for information during the bid process shall be directed to robert@bartletteng.com at least three (3) business days prior to bid opening. The purpose of the project is to repair the masonry walls on the right side (southwest) and rear southeast) if the building to provide waterproof, structurally sound, and aesthetically improved walls. The work includes, but not limited to, removal & re-pointing of deteriorated mortar as needed, removal and replacement of deteriorated caulk as needed, repair and/or replacement of loose or missing masonry as needed. The City of Wilson will provide any brick needed for the project, otherwise, the contractor shall provide all materials, labor, and equipment to complete the project. 1. Several areas require repair, which includes removal of embedded steel to at least one brick depth, removal of flashing at old roof line, removal of loose material along exterior parapet wall sections, removing broken masonry, and filling voids. The base bid shall include 750 SF of masonry patching and a unit price shall be provided for any adjustment to the actual quantity. Similarly, the base bid shall include 18,450 LF of point & tuck mortar joints and a unit price shall be provided for any adjustment to actual quantity. Sealing all openings and around penetrations shall be included in base bid. 2. Bids may be submitted electronically to steve@bartletteng.com; however, bidder is responsible for confirming delivery. 3. There are no restrictions on work hours at the site. Water and electricity will be available at the site. Owner will provide a laydown area at the site. 4. There are no known hazardous materials at the site, however the contractor is responsible for making their own determination. 5. A pre-colored Type N mortar, color approved by owner, will be acceptable.
