This project includes the replacement of an existing bridge structure and culvert crossing under County Road 44 located between County Road 69 and Business State Highway 77. The existing concrete bridge structure and corrugated metal arch pipe, nine feet in width, will be demolished along with related roadway pavement section and brush/vegetation. Contractor will provide, install and construct a new cast-in-place 2-8' x 6' reinforced concrete box culvert structure, complete with parallel reinforced concrete wingwalls. Related work includes the construction of riprap, new asphalt pavement section, traffic control and associated storm water pollution prevention measures. Questions must be submitted via online Additive Alternate Bid No. 1 improvements consist of clearing, removal, and disposal of existing brush and trees located within a 3.6-acre area of an existing open channel. The area to be cleared is situated along a 3,930 linear foot open channel path. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment that are necessary to complete the project in its entirety. All work shall be in accordance with the scope of work. All materials used for the project shall be equal to or better than the existing materials quality. The Contractor will be responsible for removal and disposal of all demolished materials and debris from the work area. The Contractor shall take proper care to avoid unnecessary noise, clatter or obstructions in walkways, sidewalks, and roadways. The Contractor shall not interfere with use or safe passage to and from building and adjacent facilities. Nueces County does not provide project estimated cost, in order to receive the lowest & best bid for our taxpayers. Time is of the essence. Failure to complete the Project within the contract time, except as such time may be extended by delays approved by County, will subject the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded, liability for damages, as provided in the Conditions of the Contract. Additional information: If the bid furnished with this project requires a bid on a lump sum basis, the Bidder shall enter the total price on the Lump Sum Bid Form. In the event bid contains a Schedule of Values, respondent shall enter a breakdown of itemized cost and total lump sum price. Lump Sum amount for base bid and additive(s) shown will control in determining the lowest and best bid. When "Calendar Days" is an Item, submit the number of calendar days to be used to complete the Contract, or phases of the Contract shown on the plans. Execute the Bid in ink. Provide the complete and correct name of the Bidder submitting the bid. The bid must be signed by the person or persons authorized to bind the contract. Verify whether addenda have been issued on a proposed Contract. Acknowledge all addenda. Bidder may call the County Purchasing office at 361-888-0426 to confirm the number of addenda issued, prior to submitting their bid. Nueces County is a tax-exempt agency. Bidders shall not include Federal taxes or State of Texas limited sales excise and use taxes in bid prices. An exemption certificate will be furnished upon request. If required by the County and/or Architect/Engineer, Bidder shall submit bid with a list of the sub-contractors they propose to use in the construction of the project.
