Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Queensbury, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

Town of Queensbury Building & Grounds Department wishes to accept bids for the Roof Replacement Project at the Town-owned building located at 195 Sunnyside Rd, in accordance with the specifications on file with the Town of Queensbury Purchasing Agent at the address listed below. Bidders may request further information by contacting Chuck Rice, Facilities Manager, at (518) 761-8258. Proposals must be made upon and in accordance with the form of proposal prepared and obtainable from the Purchasing Agent, which formal proposal will contain accompanying Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. All statements and requirements of the form proposal, this advertisement, the Instruction to Bidders, Affidavit of Non-Collusion, and the Certification of Compliance with the Iran Divestment Act shall be deemed a part of the contract to purchase entered into by the Town with the successful bidder. Location: 742 Bay Rd. Queensbury NY 12804. square feet of slightly pitched flat roof at a storage facility located at 195 Sunnyside Road Queensbury New York, 12804. Building History Currently the facility has two types of roofing materials with EPDM rubber type on the front 3000+/- square foot roof section and a built-up asphalt /fiberglass material on the rear 2200+/- square foot section. Both sections are in very poor condition due to age and storm damage. The most evident is a hole in the corner of the rear roof surface from tree damage that could potentially require subsurface structure repair or replacement. The goal is to remove damaged and aged existing materials as described below and install a mechanically fastened 060 EPDM material over the entire roof surface. All existing perimeter exterior metal and wood flashing materials along with gutters (where present) to be replaced around the entire perimeter with new materials. General guidelines Contractors will be required to abide by New York State prevailing wage criteria Contractors will carry adequate property, auto and workers compensation insurances Work will perform with the safety of the workers, neighbors and property foremost All debris to be removed and disposed of by proper means. At no time will accessibility to the property be restricted. No work deemed as "extra" will be performed unless approved by Town of Queensbury Management. All materials stored unsecured on the project property will be done so at the contractor's sole risk. The Purchasing Agent will then submit the Bids and the recommendation to the Town Board for consideration and approval, if any, at its next regularly scheduled meeting. The right is reserved to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities and any bids and to accept any considered advantageous to the Town of Queensbury. Warranties, if any, may be considered by the Town Board in making a final determination as to whom to award the bid to. No proposal may be withdrawn without the consent of the Town Board for a period of 45 days after the time for opening bids has passed.
