The Embassy of the United States of America in Ottawa has a construction requirement for the painting of a metal fence at a U.S. Government premises located in Ottawa. The character and scope of the work are set forth in the contract. The Contractor shall furnish sufficient personnel with the technical knowledge and experience as well as the tools and materials necessary to perform the work required by this contract. In case of differences between small and large-scale drawings, the latter will govem. Where a portion of the work is drawn in detail and the remainder of the work is indicated in outline, the parts drawn in detail shall apply also to all other portions of the work. B.I Contractor shall sand and prime all rusted and peeling area prior to paint the fence. B.2 Painting specifications: All exposed metal shall be primed whit red oxide primer (or an equivalent) with a finish of two coats of paint of high-quality exterior paint (Alkyd enamel paint). A finished sample will be provided for the Contracting Officer or COTR's approval prior to painting the fence. B.3 Approximately 65 meters of fence (fence above the stone wall) shall be given to the contractor that will receive this painting project. B.4 Provide a written two-year warranty on materials and workmanship, from the date of project's completion and acceptance. B.5 Provide manufacturer's warranty on materials. B.6 All repairs shall be approved, inspected and brought to total satisfaction of the Contracting Officer or Contracting Officer's Technical Representative. B.7 Before any kind of work including painting, the Contractor shall protect stonewall, patio and any other surface from damage or spoilage. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage caused by a lack of protection or negligence to the residence and or surrounding property. B.8 The Contractor shall be responsible to maintain safe passage free of any debris or hazardous materials around the working area for all occupants and visitors to the residence to prevent any accident. B.9 The Contractor shall be responsible for replacing any landscaping damaged due to Contractor's work or negligence in connection of the work. B.10 The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of all debris from the residence and surrounding yards. Clean up shall be conducted at the end of each workday and at the completion of the project.
