The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for Lagoon Ash Sand Storage for the Water Pollution Control Facility, located at 7525 Bertram Road SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. Scope of Work: Contractor shall accept lagoon ash sand excavated and hauled by a separate contracted vendor from the Water Pollution Control Facility, 7525 Bertram Road SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Hauler shall weigh the ash sand prior to unloading it at Contractor's facility. Ash sand shall be weighed on the Contractor's scale. A copy of the weigh ticket shall be provided by Contractor to the Hauler and shall be included with Contractor's invoice. Contractor shall hold a Beneficial Use Determination (BUD) from the Iowa DNR for the term of this Contract. If the BUD expires or is cancelled, Contractor shall notify the City immediately, in writing. The City estimates that $16,000 tons of ash sand will be hauled to Contractor's facility once in 2025. Thereafter, an estimated of 3,500 tons on an annual basis. Bids will be evaluated promptly after opening. After an award is made, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids; no bid may be modified or withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days thereafter.
