This project is located in the Davenport Public Work Facility, 1200 E. 46th St., Davenport, IA. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment for the removal of portions of non-load bearing concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls at roof joist penetrations and grout between the top of walls and corrugated roof deck. . Prices in bid should be free of all sales taxes. Pursuant to Iowa Code sections 422.42 (15) & (16), the awarded contractor will be issued a tax exemption certificate to purchase construction materials (within the state of Iowa) that will be incorporated into real property for this project tax free. F. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. G. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. H. Working Days - There are no Working Days for this contract. The Contractor shall complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment for the bid by 02/28/2025. H. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $500.00 per day I. Manufacturer's written warranties and guarantees shall also be required from the awarded bidder. K. Specifications and contract documents governing the proposed improvements and proceedings of the City Council referring to this proposed improvement are hereby made part of this notice and a proposed contract shall be executed in compliance with the "Instructions to Bidders" and with the "General Contract Conditions". L. Payments to the contractor for such improvement will be made monthly in warrants as specifiedin the "General Contract Conditions" by virtue of the statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa and as specified in the "General Conditions". M. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so. N. Attention is called to the fact that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, national origin or ancestry, sexual orientation, age, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disabilities or political beliefs and affiliations.
