The Department of Administration, on behalf of the State of Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC), is seeking Construction Manager at Risk services for the preconstruction consulting and construction of the remodel and expansion of the Programing Space located at DOC Shakopee - Shakopee, MN. The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) facility at Shakopee - the State's only prison for females - is proposing to construct an addition to the existing Core Building, along with remodeling of adjacent areas within the building to accommodate expansion of educational and other programming for the incarcerated female residents. The project will include additional classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, group rooms, and offices for programming staff, and a larger chapel and children's visitation room. The addition will also include a small equipment penthouse. The new space will allow the facility to provide residents a more robust array of rehabilitative programming in order to better prepare them for re-entry into the community and thereby minimize recidivism.
