Nature & Education Center The nature and education center will be located on approximately 37 acres in the Southeast corner of Grand Park, near Dallas North Tollway and Stonebrook Parkway. This area is ideal due to the ecological makeup of the land to include high-value meadow areas, and open, accessible riparian woodlands. The Center should blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, be wildlife friendly, and should include sustainable features when practical. The Center should have a mix of indoor and outdoor learning spaces and should include spaces for rentals. Indoor learning spaces should include room for: o Interactive exhibits and displays about local ecosystems, o live animal enclosures with informative signage, o areas for educational videos and presentations, and o areas for hands-on activities like nature art or specimen observation. Outdoor learning spaces should include: o Extensive walking trails, o gardens showcasing native plants and rainwater collection areas, o areas for gardening and composting demonstrations, o water play areas, and o designated outdoor learning classrooms for hands-on activities. Rental spaces should vary in size and should be able to accommodate small corporate retreats, weddings, meetings, etc. Administration Building In addition to serving as a nature and education center, this building will also serve as the administration building for Play Frisco. Approximately 40 staff will be housed here. Inside there should be a mix of offices, cubicles, and shared workstations as well as small conference rooms that can serve a variety of needs. Showers and lockers should be included as well as a kitchen area. Parking will be required for personal vehicles as well as city vehicles. As of October 7, 2025, a design firm has been selected.
