Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The proposed scope of work consists of providing engineering services to prepare a detailed set of drawings for the single span bridge substructure and superstructure, nominally 41 ft. in total length, 28 ft. in clear roadway width, plus pedestrian crossing widths on each side which are to be sealed by a professional engineer, licensed to practice in the State of Indiana. A set of these as build documents are to be submitted at the completion of the work to the county for their records. The scope of work includes the demolition and removal of the existing bridge from the site. The scope of work also includes designing and building two abutments. The scope also includes the installation of the designed bridge beams and construction of the bridge deck including the embedments for attachment of the bridge railing, and the barriers between the roadway, pedestrian traffic and bridge edges. All materials shall be supplied and installed by Contractor. The scope of work also includes approach railings on all four corners. It also includes all backfill, paving and all other items necessary to completely replace the bridge and open it safely to public use. Contractors must bid using new steel beams. If used steel beams that meet specs are available, contractor may bid using them as an option. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the proposal form furnished to bidders. A certified check, bank draft or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and a surety company in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The Contractor awarded the work will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the contract price; a payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price; a maintenance bond for a period of one (1) year after completion of the project equal to twenty (20%) of the bid and proof of insurance as specified in the General Provisions. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in bidding.
