For as needed Millwright Services as requested by the City of Cedar Rapids Water Pollution Control Facility. Email, fax or hard copy Submittals are not acceptable. After an award is made, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids; no bid may be modified or withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days thereafter. Question Cut Off Date 11/4/2024 03:00:00 PM (CT) Contact Heather Mell h.mell@cedar-rapids.org (319) 286-5117 The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for scheduled and emergency millwright services for the City of Cedar Rapids Water Pollution Control Facility. Services shall be on an as needed basis at the Water Pollution Control Facility, 7525 Bertram Road SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services shall include, but are not limited to, setting of motors, motor alignments, vibration analysis, crane and rigging services, and mechanical services for fans/blowers, compressors, pumps and other machinery. This also includes design and fabrication for the items listed above. The City reserves the right to solicit bids for new installations and/or major renovations. Scope of Work 2.1 Setting of Motors a) The setting of motors shall include the following: 1) Placing motors on bases 2) Connection of drive transmission devices 3) Grouting/repair of bases 4) Fabrication of new equipment bases 2.2 Alignment Services a) The alignment services shall include the following: 1) Mechanical, Optical, and Laser alignments b) Typical plant equipment to align: 1) Motors to pumps 2) Motors to fans 3) Motors to process equipment 4) Turbines to generators 5) Gearboxes to/from equipment 2.3 Vibration Analysis a) Vibration analysis of the following equipment: 1) Motors 2) Pumps 3) Compressors 4) Fans/Blowers 5) Turbines b) Vibration analysis reports shall be furnished to WPC upon request. Reports shall be in feet per second peak unless otherwise specified. 2.4 Crane and Rigging Services a) Crane and rigging services shall include: 1) Rental, scheduling, and coordination of crane and rigging equipment 2.5 Mechanical Services a) Mechanical services shall include: 1) Maintenance and repair of rotating and reciprocating equipment 2) Diagnostics and repair of critical process equipment such as compressors, blowers, fans, turbines, and pumps b) Provide engineering services and design services to assist, participate and oversee services listed above and provide recommendations to the City. 3.0 Work Order Form 3.1 All work requested by the Water Pollution Control Facility shall be issued on a work order form.
