The Town of Wilton (the "Town") invites interested parties to submit proposals to provide preliminary analysis and design plans of the Kent Road Bridge over the Norwalk River for the Town of Wilton. The Town is soliciting proposals from qualified engineering firms (referred to in this RFP as "Consultant" or "Respondent") to provide design services based on recommendations from previous bridge inspections conducted by the State and Town, as well as further preliminary analysis conducted by the Consultant as it relates to the Kent Road Bridge over the Norwalk River (Bridge No. 04979) (referred to in this RFP as the "Bridge"). The Consultant's scope of services will be to prepare design plans for the Bridge for the Town to move forward with maintenance/rehabilitation to extend the useful life of the structure without replacement or reconstruction. Since its construction in 1956, the Bridge has been regularly inspected by CTDOT (most recently in 2023) and was a part of a Town-wide bridge and culvert assessment in 2019. Reports from those inspections, along with data collected by the Consultant as a part of the Consultant's own field investigations and observations shall be the basis for design plans proposed for the Bridge. This RFP does not constitute a contract offer, and no contract will exist unless and until a Consulting Services Agreement is executed by the Town and the selected Consultant. The Town reserves the right to review the proposals and reject all proposals or take no action or elect not to select any proposal. The Town also reserves the right to cancel this RFP at any time and to reissue this or a substitute RFP at a later date. In its sole discretion and without prejudice, the Town will award the proposed contract to the Consultant it feels is best suited to complete the scope of services. INSURANCE REQUIRMENTS Each proposal shall include a certification that the Consultant holds current insurance policies meeting the requirements described in Exhibit A.
