Renovation of a museum in Williamsburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
The purpose and intent of this Quick Quote is to establish a contract with one qualified vendor, hereinafter referred as to "Contractor" to provide labor and materials to remove and replace the #2 humidifier located on the 2 nd floor of the Theater & Special Exhibition wing at Jamestown Settlement, as specified herein, at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation (JYF), an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia hereinafter referred to as "Agency". Work Location:Jamestown Settlement, 2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185 Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation operates two state educational museums, Jamestown Settlement, and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and a Central Support Complex. 1. Coordinate with the Agency representative on scheduling the work. 2. Where equipment is identified by brand, make or model, provide that item, or true equal pre-approved by the Agency representative. 3. All demolition work shall be completed before or after museum operating hours. 4. Power off and lock-out/tag-out equipment as needed. 5. Demolition/Preparation: Provide labor and materials for the following: o Remove and demo existing # 2 humidifier o Prepare the location above the ceiling to accept the new unit. o Include duct modifications as required to replace dispersion tube assembly. 6. New installation: Provide labor and materials for the following: o Replace the existing #2 humidifier with a newer DriSteem "Ultra Sorb" model. o Provide associated low pressure steam and condensate return piping as required. o Materials of construction to be: o Condensate drain: Schedule 80 carbon steel piping with threaded or socket welded joints. o Water & Tempered Drain Piping: Copper tubing with pressed joints. o Insulation: Condensate piping: Fiberglass insulation with all-service jacket. Match thickness of existing. Water Piping: 1/2 " fiberglass insulation with all service jacket. 7. Connect new equipment with the building automated systems as specified by the Agency. 8. Connect unit to the building automated system(BAS) Warranty: One (1) year labor/materials warranty for drain cooler, steam trap assembly, humidifier installation (if required), and associated piping. BID ACCEPTANCE PERIOD: Any bid in response to this solicitation shall be valid for (90) days. At the end of the days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled. BID PRICES: Bid shall be in the form of a firm unit price for each item. INSURANCE: By signing and submitting a bid or proposal under this solicitation, the bidder certifies that if awarded the contract, it will have the following insurance coverage at the time the contract is awarded. For construction contracts, if any subcontractors are involved, the subcontractor will have workers' compensation insurance in accordance with 2.2-4332 and 65.2-800 et seq. of the Code of Virginia. The bidder further certifies that the contractor and any subcontractors will maintain these insurance coverage during the entire term of the contract and that all insurance coverage will be provided by insurance companies authorized to sell insurance in Virginia by the Virginia State Corporation Commission
