The project consists of constructing a new community garden at Spears Park as specified in plans and in accordance with Project Manual. Proposed work includes accessibility improvements, stormwater runoff management, overall recreational upgrades, and public safety improvements. Specific improvements include furnishing and installation of new perimeter fencing and gates, the installation of resin bound aggregate and gravel surfacing, furnishing and installation of a new backflow preventer cabinet and meter connecting an existing water line to three yard hydrants, installation of new Owner furnished site furnishings, and installation and maintenance of new site plantings. To support this work, the contractor is responsible for coordinating all work required for site preparation and removals including removal of existing grass turf, removal and disposal of existing site amenities, furnishing, maintaining, and installation of erosion and sedimentation controls, and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. Work under the contract requires a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to accomplish the work described herein, in accordance with all specifications and requirements of the attached Technical Specifications, the attached Weston & Sampson Project Plans and this Invitation For Bid. City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Contract Documents shall make a written request to the Chief Procurement Officer, at purchasing@newtonma.gov or via facsimile (617) 796-1227. The City will only answer such requests if received by Friday, November 8, 2024 at 12:00 noon. In the event that the bid opening date is changed, the deadline for informational requests may also change as provided in an addendum issued by the City.
