The general scope of work will be performed on existing tennis courts and will be executed through two contracts. One contract consists of a post tension concrete cap with court surfacing and equipment for (2) tennis courts and (6) pickleball courts and concrete sidewalk replacement. Another contract consists of fencing replacement. The above general outline of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. Special Damages - In addition to the amounts provided for liquidated damages, Contractor, in the event of such default, shall pay the Owner the actual costs reasonably incurred by Owner for engineering and inspection forces employed on the work after the time stipulated for the completion of the work. The contract time is 90 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed in the amount of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each calendar day the Work has not achieved Substantial Completion. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of his bid, payable to the City of Columbus, as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Each contractor submitting a bid in excess of $50,000.00 must show on his bid and on the face of the envelope containing the bid, his Certificate of Responsibility Number, as required by Section 31-3-21 and 21-3-15, Mississippi Code of 1972. If the bid does not exceed $50,000.00, a notation so stating must appear on the face of the envelope.
