Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Honolulu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The scope of work consists of the rehabilitation of Honolua Bridge. The project includes new abutments outside of the existing abutments to remain, approach slabs and concrete superstructure that has a load capacity consistent with current design standards, has MASH 2016 compliant parapets, signage and striping compliant with Hawaii Department of Transportation and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices standards, and a temporary traffic detour road and temporary bridge constructed on the makai side of the highway right-of-way to allow the road to remain open during construction. The proposed bridge deck will be 18-feet wide and 40-feet long. The estimated cost of construction is between $4,000,000 and $6,000,000. Bidders shall read the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Requirements, included in this solicitation, which establishes the program requirements pursuant to Title 49, CFR, Part 26, and includes the requirements of certification, method of award, and evidence of good faith.
