Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,442-square-foot educational facility.

In general, the work consists of a complete remodeling of approximately 2,442 sqft of office space on the Basement of the DeLuca Biochemistry Building located at 420 Henry Mall. This project is being let using a single prime bidding and contracting process. the Owner will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within five (5) days of the MEP bid opening, the Owner will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. The owner will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor shall enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders. Bidders are responsible for their bid being delivered by the time specified and delivery is entirely at the bidder's risk. Owner Furnished Microscope bases and microscope support equipment is included in the construction contract. 25 26 CLASS 1 NOTICE: 27 28 Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 16.855(10), Wisconsin Statutes, that the Division believes it is in the best interests of the State to contract the following work from only one source, without the usual 29 statutory procedures: The project is located on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. 30 31 32 In general, the work consists of a complete remodeling of approximately 2,442 gross square feet of office space on the Basement of the DeLuca Biochemistry Building located at 420 Henry Mall. The project creates a Cryo-Electron Microscopy Suite including two Imaging rooms, Imaging Support, Operator Room, and a Utility Corridor. The Imaging room construction includes insulated metal wall panels, a gasketed cleanroom /GWB ceiling and a recessed floor pit with access flooring. A pre-action fire protection system will be installed in the Suite. House compressed air will be extended to the suite. The project will add a dedicated air handling unit, dehumidification unit, exhaust fan, supply air ductwork, controls in the remodeled space. New electrical power and return air ductwork, and DDC temperature/humidity throughout the remodeled space to support the Suite. New IT infrastructure and communications outlets will be provided cabling, including fiber optic cabling, will be added to support the Imaging space. The access control, fire alarm, and smoke detection will be reconfigured based on the new room layout. Demolition of the existing space and setting of Owner Furnished Microscope bases and microscope support equipment is included in the construction contract. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. Contractor MUST submit hard copies of bid to UWSA within 10 working days of being notified of award.
