This project is critical to the colleges ability to achieve its mission to "build futures". The project has several primary goals: o Removing barriers to student access and promoting CLC's ability to recruit students o Increase enrollment and retention of students o Enhance academic program spaces that impact a high number of students o Enhance wayfinding on campus o Improve the north entry to the building o Renovate the Student Services spaces to streamline students access to services o Update and renovate Athletic lockers rooms and their support spaces 3 A feature of the project will be creating new prominent entrances to the building on the first floor. All construction work for the project is occurring on the first floor of the area shown in orange. The north entrance will have a new canopy constructed and the south entrance will be enhanced with exterior artwork. The new artwork should be timeless and a focal point near the south entrance. The hope is for the artwork to be a piece of art that is user-friendly and may be touched, sat on, stood next to and/or enjoyed beyond just a visual installation.
