Amtrak is seeking a Design Contractor with extensive knowledge, experience, competent personnel, and proven expertise in Railroad transportation projects. The project scope includes: . Existing Conditions Survey. Conduct a comprehensive site survey which verifies, supplants, expands archival Amtrak documentation, and assessment report, upon which subsequent design shall be based. . Design Services. To provide Security Design Services to Amtrak's Mystic River Bridge, River Road, Mystic, CT and to tAmtrak's Shaws Cove Bridge, New London, CT. . Full Construction Documentation and Service. To provide design and construction documentation and other engineering services to implement The Project as described in the Scope of Services. Project requirements include: . Basis of Design . Construction Phasing Plans, Construction Logistic and Shielding Plans. . Construction drawings and CAD files: Drawings the designer of record deems necessary to represent the intent of the project. . Technical specifications . Construction Cost Estimate . Design and Construction Schedule . Provide Weekly Status updates by email to the Amtrak Project Manager . Monthly Project Reports . Constructability Review . Design Calculations . State Registration and Code Compliance . Local, state, federal agency coordination: Federal Railroad Administration, State Historic Preservation Office Qualifications: Qualification will be based on demonstration of the Designer's ability to address each of the following: . Comparable experience in with projects of similar scope and complexity. . Provide list of projects of similar scope and complexity completed within the last five (5) years. . Other pertinent experience by the firm that would be considered beneficial to the firm's consideration on this project. Please limit letters with brief narratives addressing the above qualifications to no more than twenty (20) one-sided typed pages plus a cover letter on company letterhead.
