Completed plans call for the construction of a 322,000-square-foot, one-story above grade conference / convention center; for the demolition of a conference / convention center; for site work for a conference / convention center; and for the addition of a conference / convention center.

Project Description: The Raleigh Convention Center Expansion will be constructed across the street from the current Raleigh Convention Center, at the current Red Hat Amphitheater site. The 322,000SF expansion will be connected to the current Raleigh Convention Center by sky bridges across McDowell St, and will feature a 50,000SF flex hall, 18,000SF flex hall, commercial kitchen, meeting rooms, and administration/support spaces. Prequalification: In compliance with G.S. 143-135.8, on December 2, 2014, the City Council adopted the City of Raleigh Policy for Prequalification of Bidders for Construction Projects. The following schedule and procedures shall be utilized for prequalification of first tier subcontractors. First tier bidders shall complete and submit the prequalification application and requested attachments in accordance with the schedule below: Applicable Bid Packages 01A - General Trades / Site Services 05A - Structural Steel Approx.
