Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Tiny, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 29,000-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The Township of Tiny is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced proponents to provide construction management services for the construction of a municipal administration building. The project is the construction of a Municipal administration building in the Township of Tiny, to be located on a greenfield site on Concession 9 East. The Township has worked with the architectural firm Unity Design Studio on the development of the project to date. The preliminary design includes a single-storey, 29,000 square foot building with a partial basement of approximately 4,000 square feet. The facility will house office space for approximately 50 existing full-time and 10 part-time staff members, rental office space, a council chambers, a multi-function room, an archive space, and an Emergency Operation Centre. The facility is of cross-laminated timber construction. A Net-Zero Energy and Net-Zero Carbon goal is being sought with respect to energy efficiency and sustainability. Studies are currently underway to support this goal. In addition, post-disaster specifications are being planned to support the function of the facility as an Emergency Operation Centre.
