Burnsville Wastewater Plant Rehabilitation Description: This project will consist of the rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment plant and the replacement of treatment equipment that is failing due to age to meet the wastewater treatment needs of this area. The scope of work includes the replacement of the existing fine screens and aerated grit removal system, the replacement of the existing 0.5 MGD contact stabilization treatment system with 0.5 MGD extended air process with a new detached chlorine contact basin, the replacement of the existing gaseous chlorine and sulfur dioxide systems with liquid sodium hypochlorite and sodium bisulfite feed systems, and the rehabilitation of the existing 0.5 MGD concrete structure and conversion to an equalization basin and aerobic digestor.
