Construction of a new police station in the City of Brossard of Longueuil agglomeration at 6840 Milan street. The project includes the construction of a new approximately 3,700 m2 building. The new facility will house several services of the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department, including community services, operations support, the 911 back-up call centre and the police information department. The architectural design of the two-story building was conceived to ensure "coherent integration" into the neighborhood, the press release explains. For example, its brick cladding is inspired by that of the surrounding buildings, as is its height. The project also includes a parking lot. This will include both outdoor and underground spaces, which will limit the footprint and optimize green spaces. TIMELINE: Working drawings are underway. Based on the current requirements the owner has increased the project budget up to $64.5 million including amounts of the owner's borrowing bylaw of $54.2 million submitted to city council. According to the owner's scheduling construction will begin in the fall of 2027 with commissioning of the project schedules for 2029.
