Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Springfield, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 75,560-square-foot municipal facility; 22,000-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The city's Planning and Zoning Commission met on Oct. 16, 2024, to discuss a petition for a new water distribution facility for City Water, Light and Power on the east side of Springfield. They are still working on getting the approval they need for the land. The new distribution facility would be 22,000 square feet with warehouse space near a 30,000-square-foot equipment garage to house snowplows and as a parking lot used by employees of CWLP. As of April 8, 2025, per owner, this project at the original site was cancelled due to historic site designation nearby. A new site is under consideration on other City–owned property but nothing is finalized. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
