Work Location: Work will be performed on primary and secondary routes within the Town of Bedford, Virginia. Summary: The Town of Bedford is soliciting sealed bids from qualified firms to provide equipment, materials, qualified operators, and traffic control to perform asphalt overlay and milling. The Town of Bedford (herein referred to as "Town") is soliciting sealed bids from qualified firms to provide equipment, materials, qualified operators, and traffic control to perform asphalt overlay and milling. Work will be performed on primary and secondary routes within the Town of Bedford. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond from a surety company selected by the Bidder that is authorized to do business in Virginia, as a guarantee that if the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, that Bidder contracts with the Town for the work described in the Contract Documents. The amount of the Bid Bond shall equal five percent (5%) of the total amount Bid, including base bid, bid items, and bid alternates. The low responsive and responsible bidder, who upon receipt of a Contract Award from the Town, fails to furnish acceptable Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days shall forfeit their bid bond. No forfeiture under a bid bond shall exceed the lessor of (i) the difference between the bid for which the bond was written and the next low bid, or (ii) the face amount of the bid bond. The notation "ITB-2025-001 Paving", the Bidder's name, and the specified opening time and date must be clearly marked on the front of that sealed envelope or package. If the Bidder adds any provisions reserving the right to accept or reject Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) on the basis of the Bid Price and exclusion whichever is deemed to be in the Town's best interest. The Procurement Department reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations. The Owner also reserves the right to reject any bids, in whole or part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its sole interest.
