The Town of Warrenton ("Town") is accepting bids from qualified, Class A contractors to install approximately 5,232 linear feet of 8-inch water main along Lancaster Drive from Nordix Drive to King William Street. The construction scope of work includes, but is not limited to, installation of erosion control devices, installation of water main, water service reconnection, installation of new fire hydrants, asphalt pavement, and all measures required for the maintenance of traffic during construction. The major work elements and Contractor's responsibilities expected shall include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall submit a two-week look-ahead schedule each Thursday by 4:30 pm. Contractor shall submit all materials for review prior to ordering. The Contractor shall meet substantial completion by Friday, August 29, 2025. Substantial completion shall be defined as the project being finished with connections to the water service and the road having been repaved. This is a unit price bid with lump sum elements. The Town has estimated all quantities on this bid as accurately as possible, however, all quantities given are estimates and should be treated as such. Contractor shall submit a maintenance of traffic plan and work zone certifications to the Town's Project Coordinator for approval prior to any street closures. Contractor shall be responsible for keeping the roadways and sidewalks adjacent to the work area clean and free of debris. Contractor shall maintain access to all driveways. The 4" #57 stone bedding and 21-A backfill of proposed water main shall be included in the price of water main pipe per linear foot on EXHIBIT A. All bids shall be accompanied by a five percent (5%) bid bond for the total amount of base bid. Performance and Payment Bond with a value of 100% of the contract amount for all contracts greater than $100,000 will be required of the successful Bidder prior to commencing work. A copy of Contractor's Class A license shall be submitted along with the bid. Any questions submitted on or before Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12:00 pm will be answered and uploaded to the Town's website. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to check the Town's website prior to the due date for any issued Addenda and to submit with their bid any and all Addenda acknowledgments signed by an individual authorized to sign on behalf of their organization. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive all informalities. In the event the Town Manager chooses to reject all bids, the Town will re-advertise. Bids shall be binding for 60 days following the closing date.
