PROJECT: The project will be a City-wide street resurfacing project that will impact approximately thirty (30) roadways and streets throughout the City totaling approximately six (6) miles. Unit prices being provided for additions to or deletions from the base contract amount. The scope of work will include 1.5" of ALDOT 429A (165LBS/SY) asphalt wearing layer, asphalt leveling, planning/milling, tack coat, sweeping, shoulder cutbacks and stabilization, full depth removal and replacement with black base, alligator crack repair with E-Treatment with polymer additive, spraying for weeds and/or grass, manhole rims and/or utility valve riser adjustments, striping (temporary paint and permanent paint and thermoplastic), raised pavement markers, erosion control, etc. Asphalt paving materials will be provided by the Owner under the PACA and the cost for asphalt material shall not be included in the bid cost. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. A Bid Bond will be required and must be included in the sealed bid proposal package to be considered a responsive bid. The Owner intends to award a single contract for the base bid scope of work noted above to a single General Contractor. The Owner will accept proposals only from firms which demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this Project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals, to waive any informality in any Bid Proposal, and to accept any Bid Proposal considered advantageous to the Owner. The Contract award, if made, will be made to the low responsive, responsible Bidder. No Bid Proposal may be withdrawn after the time for opening Bid Proposals has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold Bid Proposals for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving Bid Proposals. No bid proposal shall be accepted after the time stated for receiving bid proposals in this notice.
