Bidder instructions, including pre-bid meeting and contractor questionnaire details, are provided in the bid documents. As part of the bidding process, attendance at the Prebid meeting is considered mandatory. The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to perform the construction called for under this contract in a timely, safe, and professional manner. Bids will be accepted only from qualified General Contractors licensed prior to the bid opening by the State of Alabama. A cashier's check or a bid bond payable to the City of Huntsville, Alabama, d/b/a/ Huntsville Utilities for an amount not less than 5% of the contractor's bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, will be required to accompany each bid. A performance bond, a payment bond, a maintenance bond, and insurance will be required prior to execution of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of ninety (90) days.
