Wastewater System Improvements The Project Includes the Following Work: Remove Sludge From All Four Lagoons; Install 200 Lineal Feet of 6-inch Force Main; New Aerators and Blowers; and All Related Appurtenances. All Sludge Removed Must Be Land Applied Outside of Any Nearby Federally Marked Flood Hazards and Wetlands. Bids May Be Held by the Village of Cowden for a Period Not to Exceed 30 Days From the Date of the Opening of Bids for the Purpose of Reviewing the Bids and Investigating the Qualiications of Bidders, Prior to Awarding of the Contract. A Certiied Check or Bank Draft, Payable to the Order of Village of Cowden, Negotiable U.s. Government Bonds (at Par Value) or a Satisfactory Bid Bond Executed by the Bidder and an Acceptable Surety in an Amount Equal to Ive Percent (5%) of the Total Bid Shall Be Submitted With Each Bid. This Project is Funded in Whole or in Part With Grant Funds From the Community Development Block Grant (Cdbg) Program. Attention is Called to the Fact That 1) Not Less Than the Federal Prevailing Wages as Set Forth in the Contract Documents Must Be Paid on This Project; 2) the Work to Be Performed Under This Contract is Subject to the Requirements of Section 3, 24 Cfr Part 75; and 3) the Contractor Must Ensure That Employees and Applicants for Employment Are Not Discriminated Against Because of Their Race, Color, Religion, Sex, or National Origin. Bidders Must Not Be Excluded From Participating in Any Federal Assistance Program [24 Cfr 85, Subpart C 85.35; 2 Cfr 200.214].
