All questions shall be e-mailed to Simone Cristofori at cristoforis@amherstma.gov The Town of Amherst invites sealed bids for the demolition and removal of the former Hickory Ridge Golf Course clubhouse, 191 West Pomeroy Lane, Amherst, MA 01002. The work involves demolishing and removing the former Hickory Ridge Golf Course clubhouse, including hazardous building materials (except for asbestos), backfill and restoration of the site, and abandonment of existing water and sewer utilities in accordance with the attached documents and evaluation completed by Forbes & Wheeler. Abatement and removal of known and suspect asbestos containing materials has been procured separately and will be completed in advance of the Town approval of the building demolition. The Project Base Bid is to include all the building demolition and associated site restoration work described in the Project Specifications. Alternate No. 1 is to include the pavement removal and associated site restoration work shown on Figure 1 attached to the Project Specifications. A bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price must accompany the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish both a performance bond and a payment bond, both in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract award, not later than ten (10) working days after the award notification. Bonds will be for one (1) year and shall be renewed annually at the Contractor's expense. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.
