Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Beaufort, South Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and playground / park / athletic field.

Beaufort County is looking to upgrade one of its athletic facilities. Two baseball fields need to be updated to handle 6U and 8U baseball. The outfield is to stay grass but want to look at putting artificial turf in the infield if the budget allows. The fencing around the baseball fields needs to be adjusted and pushing back the backstop for room is an option. The baseball fields need four small dugouts and a set of bleachers on each side with sunshade. Near the baseball fields there needs to be a water fountain and two to three batting cages. The large field in the back needs to be a multipurpose artificial turf field (110'x60'). Both sides of the field need bleachers with sunshade. There needs to be a concrete wall installed near the multipurpose field for lacrosse practice and a 20' high net on the end of the field near the parking lot to protect cars from the lacrosse ball. The old football goal post needs to be removed from this field as well. The volleyball court and the basketball court need lighting. The volleyball court needs new sand as well. The County is also looking to put a small, covered pavilion with a couple of picnic tables on this site as well. Both driveways and both parking lots need to be asphalt and striped. The successful Contractor shall furnish, within ten (10) days after written notice of acceptance of Request for PROPOSALS, Performance and Payment Bonds. Contractor shall provide and pay the cost of a both bonds. The Bonds shall be in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) the contract, issued by a Surety Company licensed in South Carolina with an "A" minimum rating of performance as stated in the most current publication of "Best's Key Rating Guide, Property Liability" which shall show a financial strength rating of at least five (5) times the Contract Price. The Bond shall be accompanied by a "Power of Attorney" authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the bond. This solicitation does not commit Beaufort County to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal, or to procure or contract for the articles of goods or services. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all qualifications received as a result of this request, to negotiate with all qualified firms, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this solicitation, if it is in the best interests of the County to do so.
