**As of December 12,2024, project was awarded to Visinoni Brothers Construction, awarded amount is $4,247,856.60.** The work, in general, to be done under this contract consists of connecting to an existing unused sewer main near the intersection of Hegan and Midway south of the City of Chico and extending the sewer main south along Midway to Entler Avenue then east and south along Entler Avenue and terminating near State Route 99. The project will include the installation of sewer main, sewer manholes, pavement grinding and overlay, slurry sealing, pavement removal, repavement and striping. The work will take place primary within unincorporated areas of Butte County. The work to be done will generally consist of: Clearing and grubbing Construction surveying Cold planning asphalt Minor concrete Aggregate Base Asphalt paving Slurry Seal Laying PVC Sewer Pipe 8"-27" Roadway Signs Striping And all other work as shown on the contract plans This project is funded with Federal HUD-Community Project Funding and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and local funds. The Engineer's Estimate for this Contract is $4,750,000.00 The Project has 100 Working Days The sealed envelope enclosing the bid submittal shall be clearly marked with the Project Title, City Budget Account Number, and the Date and Hour for the opening of bids. No bid will be considered unless it is made on the bid form included in the project Bid Book furnished by the Public Works Department, obtained through on-line bidding service. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. At the time the City awards the contract for this project, the Contractor shall possess either a Class A Contractor License or a combination of classes required by the categories and types of work included in this contract. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. Five Percent (5%) will be withheld from each progress payment made to the contractor for work performed and will be held until completion of the work, its acceptance and the expiration of the period provided by law for filing liens by laborers or materialmen. In accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, securities may be substituted for the monies which the City withholds, or the Contractor may request that retention be paid to an escrow agent.
