Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in McCormick, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

McCormick County Airport Site Preparation SCOPE OF WORK Bid Option 1: Earthwork for Clearing and Grubbing, Topsoil, and Fine Grading o Clearing & Grubbing This work shall consist of providing all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, tools, supplies, and incidentals required for the clearing, grubbing, and disposal of trees, logs, brush, stumps, shrubs, and rubbish from the designated areas. The work shall include thorough raking of the subgrade to ensure removal of roots and other similar organic material which would impede the grading and compacting of the remaining soils. The designated areas may include harvestable trees that may be removed (included as a bid option), separate from scrub as described above. This material shall become property of the contractorto sell or dispose of with other site debris. The scope includes site burning of the cleared/grubbed debris. Ash and final debris to be relocated onsite to a location as directed by the County's Project Representative. No offsite hauling is anticipated within this project scope. Trees and other vegetation designated to remain undisturbed shall be protected from damage throughout the duration of the construction period. o Topsoil Stripping, Final Grading and Dressing/Topsoiling This work shall consist of providing all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, tools, supplies, and incidentals required to strip/excavate the topsoil layer from the project site in designated areas as shown in the plans to a depth of 4 inches for the purpose of removing existing topsoil, anticipated as a mixture of grass stripping, sand, silt, clay, and humus, and other surface organic-rich matter. The topsoil shall be removed in three phases to coincide with the scope of the bulk earthwork project phasing, with material being stockpiled as directed by the County's Project Representative - anticipated to be on the south end of the airport. Topsoil may be screened prior to stockpiling or prior to final spreading on the site but must be screened to minimize the placement of larger roots, rocks or other deleterious materials that would inhibit the establishment of turf or grasses. To complete the grading process at the completion of the bulk earthwork grading project, the contractor will complete final dressing and fine grading in the process of spreading the topsoil in preparation for grassing/seeding. Topsoil will be spread to a compacted depth of at least 4 inches. Bid Option 2: Earthwork Erosion Control and Grassing Project This work shall consist of providing all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, tools, supplies, and incidentals required to control and minimize soil erosion and discharge of sediment from the construction site to adjacent lands, streams, roadways, and underground public utilities, as specified on the plans, or as directed by the Engineer. Erosion control work can include: o Installing erosion control measures: Such as silt fences, erosion control berms, rip-rap, mulching, check dams, and inlet protection o Protecting disturbed areas: Covering with mulch or vegetation to prevent accelerated erosion o Controlling surface runoff: Diverting water from disturbed areas to avoid them, and breaking up long slopes to reduce runoff velocity o Replanting: Establishing vegetation that's suited to the site conditions. This includes temporary and final grassing as required by pr Description: Seeking bids for Bid Option 1, Bid Option 2, Bid Option 3, either individually or as a combined bid for all options. Bid Option 1: Earthwork for Clearing and Grubbing, Topsoil, and Fine Grading. Bid Option 2: Earthowrk Erosion Control and Grassing; Bid Option 3: Airport Drainage and Pavement Repair.
