The Project is generally described as follows: Construction of a mechanical wastewater treatment system adjacent to the City's existing wastewater treatment lagoons. This includes a wastewater lift station, a concrete headworks structure with screening equipment, a sequencing batch reactor system, influent and effluent samplers, an administrative building, and site improvements including grading, piping, and electrical improvements. Bidders will be required to pro- vide Bid security in the form ofa Bid Bond or cashier's check inthe amount of a sum no less thanfive (5) percent of the Bid Pricebut not more than $10,000.00. The Owner reserves the right towaive any informality or to rejectany or all bids, and to award thecontract to the lowest and mostresponsible bidder. All biddersmust comply with the requirements of the Contractor's Licensing Law of the State of Alabamaand be certified for the type ofwork on which the proposal issubmitted. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in theamount, form, and subject to theconditions provided in the Information for Bidders. All nonresident contractors preparing bids shall submit withthe bid documents evidenceof a current Alabama GeneralContractor's License, evidence(with original seal of the Stateof Alabama) of proper registra- tion with the Alabama Secretaryof State as a foreign corpora- tion, and a Certificate of GoodStanding as a Foreign Corpora- tion from the State of AlabamaDepartment of Revenue. Bidssubmitted by a non-residentcontractor without these docu- ments included will be rejected. No bidder may withdraw his bidwithin sixty (60) days after theopening thereof. Bids may beheld by the Owner for a periodnot to exceed sixty (60) days fromthe date of opening of bids for thepurpose of reviewing the bids andinvestigating the qualifications ofthe bidders prior to awarding thecontract.
