Walk-In Cooler, Freezer, or Combo Cooler/Freezer Walk-in shall have factory installed vapor-proof light fixtures. The standard fixture shall have a 100W LED bulb with 1600 lumens. All bulbs used shall exceed 40 lumens/Watt efficiency. One light shall be used for each 50 sq.tt interior floor space. All lights shall operate with a pre-wired manual switch. A 4" insulated (R-28) prefabricated floor shall be supplied. The floor shall be reinforced with woven fiberglass matting on top of a 1/2 " plywood sub floor bonded to the urethane core forming a watertight seal. A skid resistant surface coating will be applied to the floor surface. The floor shall be constructed for permanent elevation 1- 1/2 " above grade. The elevation provides for air circulation under the floor to eliminate corrosion and the need for an insulated and / or ventilated slab. A welded, heavy-duty steel frame shall be encased in fiberglass and permanently bonded to the floor to ensure total portability without damage to the walk-in. The floor shall have the capacity to support 900 Ibs. / sq. ft. of evenly distributed load. The walk-in structure shall be constructed with a fiberglass interior and exterior and a 4" urethane core. The interior and exterior fiberglass shell shall be completely seamless and will form a one-piece structure. The exterior shall be rust, dent and scratch resistant. The exterior shall be coated with an industrial enamel finish and the interior shall have an anti-microbial interior finish. Partition walls shall be constructed in the same manner as the exterior walls with a minimum 4" urethane core. The walk-in shall be built as specified interior and exterior dimensions. Maximum size is limited by highway transport height and width restrictions to 16' wide x 65' long x 11'4" tall, subject to route taken. The walk-in shall have sufficient refrigeration to maintain [+35 F] [0 F] [-10 F] [-20 F] temperature inside the [cooler] [freezer] compartment when the ambient temperature is 100F, the average number of door openings is [1] [2] [3] [4] [10] per hour, and there is [no] [BTUH] load from warm products entering unit. The refrigeration system shall be wired to run on [208V/60HZ/1PH] [230V/60HZ/1PH] [208-230V/60HZ/3PH] power. B. The walk-in shall bear the label of the following National Certification Agencies: 1. National Sanitation Foundation (NSF STD #7) 2. Miami-Dade NOA No. 18-0516.05 3. U.S. Department of Energy 2007 EISA compliant 4. Underwriters Laboratory (Major Refrigeration Components) 5. Underwriters Laboratory (Major Electrical Components) 6. Underwriters Laboratory (Class I Urethane) C. The walk-in shall comply with the following model building codes: 1. International Conference of Building Officials (ICSO) 2. Southern Building Code Congress International (SBCCI) 3. Building Officials Congress Association (BOCA) 4. National Electric Code (NEC) This Specification establishes the minimum requirements for this solicitation, listed and described in the body of these specifications, to be used as noted: A. The walk-in cooler/freezer unit shall be factory-prefabricated with a unitized design, enabling installation without assembly and relocation without disassembly. The unit will be delivered fully assembled by company trucks, ready for installation. However, additional cranes may be required on-site. The unit will be set into place as directed by an authorized BPS official. BPS will ensure that the designated installation area for the walk-in cooler/freezer is prepared prior to delivery. The on-site contractor, as directed by BPS, will be responsible for connecting the electrical power supply to the refrigeration system and for any necessary flashing to the building wall. Respondents shall not be permitted to hand-deliver, mail, telephone, fax or email offers.
