It is the intent of these Contract Documents to provide the requirements and specifications for the construction associated with The City of Pine Forest Street Reconstruction Improvements project which generally includes but is not limited to: Mobilization, re-working of existing asphalt surfaces and base materials, repair areas of apparent base failure, importation of additional fill material as needed, incorporation of cement slurry stabilization, application of primer coat, and placement of hot mix asphalt as required in the plans and specifications. This work to include any necessary relocation of mailboxes, minor drainage improvements, tie-in to all existing driveways within the project limits, and implementation of traffic control measures during all phases of construction. Streets in this project include McVey Street and Labouve Street to the limits shown on the plans and specifications. Reconstruction improvements for: The deadline to ask questions is 11/27/2024 10:00 AM CST McVey Street - 470 Linear Feet Labouve Street - 930 Linear Feet A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Pine Forest or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The City of Pine Forest reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Performance Bonds - Requires all prime contractors which enter into a formal contract in excess of $100,000 with the State, a county, or a municipality; a department, board, or agency of the state, a county, or a municipality; and a school district or a subdivision thereof, to obtain a Performance Bond in the amount of the contract before commencing with work. Payment Bonds- Requires all prime contractors which enter into a formal contract with the State, a county, or a municipality; a department, board, or agency of the state, a county, or a municipality; and a school district or a subdivision thereof, to furnish to the governmental entity a payment bond in the amount of the contract. BIDDER hereby agrees to commence WORK under this Contract on or before a date to be specified in the Notice to Proceed and to fully complete the PROJECT within 135 consecutive calendar days specified in the Notice to Proceed, including, but not limited to, all Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal, State, and City holidays thereafter. BIDDER further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $500.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter including, but not limited to, all Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal, State and City holidays as provided in Sections 9 and 40 of the General Contract Conditions.
