Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
This project will repair and improve paving and structures along McAlpine Creek Greenway from Johnston Road to Carmel Road at McMullen Creek Greenway trail, a greenway trail totaling approximately 2 miles with six access trails and one trailhead. The scope of this project may include repairs/replacement of paved greenway trail, bridges, boardwalks, wayfinding, and improvements to the parking area and restroom. As of April 15, 2025, this project is included in the county's 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). It is currently in the design phase. Construction is not expected to begin until 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
