Construction of University Avenue roadway improvements between 11th Street and Waukee Public Works Building. The construction consists of approximately 11,900 square yards of PCC pavement, 5,500 tons of HMA pavement, 1,800 linear feet of water main, 3,900 linear feet of storm sewer, 460 linear feet of sanitary sewer, earthwork, subgrade preparation, box culvert, pedestrian underpasses, manholes, intakes, traffic signal, sidewalk and shared use path paving, surface restoration, landscape plantings, and other associated work. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of a written notice to proceed and shall be completed by: May 31, 2026 An interim completion date for all grading, structure construction, utility installation, sidewalks, trails, driveways, and roadway paving with the exception of final landscaping and site restoration has been set for November 21, 2025. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the City.
