Renovation of an educational facility in Simcoe, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 17,000-square-foot educational facility.

The Board wishes to prequalify Contractors interested in acting as General Contractor for the renovations at Elgin Avenue Public School located at 80 Elgin Ave., Simcoe, Ontario and Cobblestone Elementary School, 179 Grandville Circle, Paris Ontario. Only Contractors that have been prequalified by the Board will be invited to submit a bid for the project. The Board reserves the right to limit the number of Contractors prequalified as part of this process. Contractors who have been prequalified or who are currently performing work for the Board must also respond to this request. Contractors that do not participate in this prequalification process will be excluded from bidding on the project. The most qualified Contractors resulting from this prequalification, up to a maximum of six (6) Contractors will be invited to participate in the second stage procurement process Elgin Avenue Public School: The scope of work associated with the Elgin Avenue Public School is generally described as follows: 1. The project will expand the size of the existing school by over 17,000 square feet. 2. A four-classroom kindergarten addition to the northeast section of the building. 3. A new three (3) room Childcare Centre and one EarlyOn room. 4. A new accessible entrance, with a new elevator to access all existing floors. 5. Car Parking expansion. 6. Significant renovations and upgrades to the existing building footprint. The construction budget which will be approximately $18 Million, excluding soft costs and taxes. The project is currently in the design phase and the tender is anticipated to be issued in January 2025, with construction planned soon after. Contractors Must direct all questions regarding this REQUEST FOR PREQUALIFICATION via email only The Project completion is planned for Winter 2026 to allow for deficiencies to be completed in advance of the facility being operational by March 2026. Cobblestone Elementary School: The scope of work associated with the Cobblestone Elementary School is generally described as follows: 1. An eight-classroom addition. 2. A new four (4) room Childcare Centre. 3. Car Parking expansion. The construction budget which will be approximately $6.3 Million, excluding soft costs and taxes. The project is currently in the design phase and the tender is anticipated to be issued in January 2025, with construction planned for late fall early winter 2025. The Project completion is planned for August 2026 to allow for deficiencies to be completed in advance of the facility being operational by the September 2026 for the School occupancy in September 2026.
