Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 30,000-square-foot municipal facility.
The 7th floor of the Mecklenburg County Courthouse was "shelled" for future expansion. This project is for the Partial Upfit of 7th Floor to provide additional courtrooms. Approximately 30,000 square feet will be upfit. As of October 20, 2025, this project is included in the county's 2029-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). A solicitation for design services will be issued in 2026. A timeline for construction to follow has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
