Base Bid: Construction of approximately 1,995 linear feet of 8-inch waterline, 20 linear feet of 6-inch waterline, bore and jack 20-inch steel casing with carrier pipe, connections to existing water mains, installation of new service lines to existing water meters, abandonment of existing water lines and valves, installation of gate valves and fire hydrant assemblies, restrained joint fittings, removal and replacement of asphalt roadway and asphalt driveways, and all other necessary appurtenances as specified and depicted in the Contract Documents for fire flow protection and to serve the existing residences along HWY 321. Additive Alternate 1: Construction of approximately 285 linear feet of 8-inch waterline, abandonment of existing water lines and valves, restrained joint fittings, and all other necessary appurtenances Additive Alternate 2: Construction of approximately 210 linear feet of 8-inch waterline, installation of new service lines to existing water meters, abandonment of existing water lines and valves, restrained joint fittings, removal and replacement of asphalt roadway and asphalt driveways A certified check or bank draft payable to the order of the OWNER, negotiable U. S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. OWNER reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids or to waive any informality in the Bidding. Bids may be held by the OWNER for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
