Railway Avenue Central, at Railway Avenue and Main Street. Scope of work includes civil, landscaping and electrical. Civil work consists of demolition of existing infrastructure, replacing existing watermain and sanitary sewer, storm infrastructure replacements/renovations, constructing concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, red concrete bike path, asphalt mixed use path, asphalt road, regulatory paint markings, and signage. Landscape scope includes planting, street furnishing, and site restoration. Electrical work includes supply and installation of streetlights, traffic signals and associated hardware. The Work to be undertaken in this Contract generally involves but is not limited to: .1 Railway Avenue - sanitary main replacement in select locations .2 Railway Avenue - CIPP relining of existing sanitary main as a provisional item .3 Railway Avenue, west of Main Street - watermain replacement and reconnections of existing services .4 Railway Avenue, east of Main Street - Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation and reconnections of existing services .5 Railway Avenue and Main Street - storm infrastructure replacements and new installations .6 Railway Avenue and Main Street - streetlight and traffic signal renovations for new intersection and streetscape .7 Railway Avenue and Main Street - surface works construction (grading, asphalt, concrete, road, path, pavement markings and signage) .8 Railway Avenue and Main Street - landscape repairs and renovations for areas impacted by construction .9 Coordination with other contractors within the Work Site including, but not limited to, a third-party land developer planning to complete water and sanitary tie ins at Railway Avenue and Main Street. TIMELINE: An RFP from general contractors closed in early 2025 however, a contract was not awarded due to insufficient bids submitted. Project budget has been increased and completion timeline has been extended. Further update may be available by spring 2026. *Project cost is unreleased.
