Renovation of a municipal facility in Clinton, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Site Directions: Take route 52 south and turn right onto Charles E Calvird Dr the proceed to South Second and turn left, office will be on left side. Project Identification: 1. Project Location: Clinton Office 2010 South 2nd St. Clinton, Mo 64735 This project consists of a demolition down to the wood substrate clean up and replacement of all flashing, felt and architectural shingles - approximately _4500 sq.ft. Area designated in diagram are areas to be replaced and include roof penetrations and limits of flashing and vent, drip edge etc. Site Mobilization and Demobilization Contractor shall field verify all measurements. The Contractor shall not remove any more roof during the day than they can completely replace with new roofing materials including night seal-off and flashing of perimeter and accessories Night seals or cut offs used shall flash all of roof system down to deck to prevent water penetration into the new roof. Awarded contractor shall provide a shop drawing detail showing proposed night seal or cut off flashing to be used at end of each day's work for approval by owner. Contractor shall examine substrates, areas, and conditions for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of work Examine roof sheathing to verify that sheathing joints are supported by framing and blocking, or metal clips and that installation is within manufacturer's flatness tolerances. Verify that substrate is sound, dry, smooth, and clean. Sloped for drainage and completely anchored; and that provision has been made for flashings and penetrations through asphalt shingles. Contractor shall daily clean work area not only on the roof but ground below as well, there shall be a magnetic sweep performed as well as visual to clean up any material on the ground. Contractor shall protect guttering system during entire project, keep clean, and ensure all gutters and downspouts are free and clear of debris at all times. 10 Architectural Shingle Roof System shall comply with the following: Underlayment shall be Felt # 30 roofing felt Type II, asphalt saturated organic felt, non-perforated. Atlas Roofing Corporation Gorilla Guard 30 or approved equal. Contractor shall install single layer felt underlayment on roof deck perpendicular to roof slope in parallel course. Lap sides a minimum of 2" inches over underlying course. Lap ends a minimum of 4" inches and stagger end laps between succeeding courses at least 72" inches, fasten with roofing nails. Contractor shall lap roof deck felt over first layer of valley underlayment at least 6" inches minimum. Contractor shall install Atlas Roofing Corporation Weather Master Pro Grade Ice & Water Underlayment or approved equal in valleys, centering on valley and protruding at least 36" inches out of each side of valley. Shingles shall be seal tab architectural type Atlas Roofing Corporation Pinnacle 35 or approved equal. Color designated by owner. Roofing system has passed Class A, ASTM E 108 or UL 790 exterior Fire Test Exposure for application and roof slopes of project. Asphalt roofing cement shall be Type II asbestos free. Warranty (From date of substantial completion) for Shingles to include: Material Warranty 30 years Wind Speed up to 70 MPH 10 years. Algae Discoloration Warranty Period 10 years Workmanship Warranty 5 years Contractor shall provide 100 sq ft (1 Square) shingles in unbroken/unopened bundles at end of project for spare. Contractor shall install shingles according to manufacturer's written instructions. Contractor shall install continuous ridge vents over asphalt shingle according to manufacturer's written instructions, fasten with roofing nails sufficient length to penetrate sheathing. Ridge and hip cap shingles shall be installed to maintain the same exposure of cap shingles as roofing shingle exposure, lap cap shingles at ridges to shed water away from direction of prevailing winds, fasten with roofing nails of sufficient length to penetrate sheathing. Ridge Cap shingles shall be fastened accordingly as to not obstruct airflow. Ridge vent shall be Atlas Roofing Corporation True Ridge Standard Exhaust vent or approved equal. Roofing nails shall be hot dipped galvanized steel wire shingle nails Minimum 0.120 diameter shank, sharp pointed, Minimum 3/8-inch diameter flat head Sufficient length to penetrate 3/4 inch into solid wood decking or protrude at least 1/8 inch through OSB or plywood sheathing. Where nails are in contact with metal flashing use nails made from same metal as flashing. Flashing shall be constructed using Sheet Metal Coil-coated G90 galvanized steel or approved equal. Flashing shall be fabricated in lengths not to exceed 10' feet in length. Drip edge shall not exceed 10' feet in length and shall have a minimum 2" inch roof deck flange minimum and a 1 1/2 " inch fascia flange minimum. Pipe Flashing shall be Oatey aluminum with rubber boot or approved equal. Apron Flashings: Extend lower flange over and beyond each side of downslope asphalt shingles and up the vertical surface. Step Flashings: Install with a head lap of 2" inches and extend over the underlying asphalt shingle and up the vertical surface. Fasten to roof deck only. Cricket or Backer Flashings: Install against the roof-penetrating element extending concealed flange beneath upslope asphalt shingles and beyond each side. Open Valley Flashings: Install centrally in valleys, lapping ends at least 8" inches in direction to shed water. Fasten upper end of each length to roof deck beneath overlap. Secure hemmed flange edges into metal cleats spaced 12" inches apart and fastened to roof deck. Rake Drip Edges: Install rake drip edge flashings over underlayment and fasten to roof deck. Eave Drip Edges: Install eave drip edge flashings below underlayment and fasten to roof sheathing. Pipe Flashings: Form flashing around pipe penetrations and asphalt shingles. Fasten and seal as recommended by manufacturer.
